Assistant Director of Care (Full-time evenings)

The role supports the Director of Care in leading the nursing team and maintaining resident-centred care in a long‑term care setting. - Lead and support quality improvement, risk management and data collection within the nursing department.
- Coordinate best-practice initiatives related to falls prevention, restraint use, wound care and infection control.
- Manage nursing supply use and take responsibility for the High Intensity Needs program.
- Support and participate in the RAI‑MDS program and resident assessment, planning and evaluation processes.
- Maintain an active presence on resident home areas to mentor staff and oversee day‑to‑day care delivery.
- Initiate investigations and corrective actions for occupational health and safety and manage modified work plans for nursing staff.
- Work with the Director of Care on projects, staff development, performance appraisals and assume DOC duties when required.
- Participate in palliative care planning and advanced care discussions.
