Overview

Sheldrake Utility Construction, a family-run civil contractor working mainly on BC Hydro projects, is hiring a full-time pipelayer/labourer based in the Lower Mainland, BC. This is an on-site, hands-on role that involves physical labour, working near heavy equipment, and transporting tools and materials each day. Key duties

  • Drive the company tool van to and from job sites and move tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Load and unload conduits, vault components, and construction supplies.
  • Assist pipelayers and the site foreman with conduit and vault installation, concrete placement, and related tasks.
  • Hand-shovel to expose buried utilities and perform general site cleanup and maintenance.
  • Operate and care for hand and power tools, rollers, tampers and other equipment.
  • Work safely around excavators, loaders, trucks and in confined spaces or trenches when required.

  • Training provided: silica (with fit testing), confined-space entry, BC Hydro-required safety training, and fall protection training.
