- Unit profile: mixed medical and surgical caseload including CHF, COPD, bowel obstructions, orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, women’s health and urology; telemetry/coronary care is present on the unit.
- Essential registration and certifications: current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario; compliance with College QA standards; current CPR; current IV Therapy and Medications certifications.
- Coronary Care 1 at a post-graduate level is required or must be obtained (online) within six months of hire if conditional on appointment.
- Other required skills: effective communication and teamwork, organizational/time management skills, and ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Preferred: BScN and Epic electronic health record training or ability to train and pass testing.
- Hours: must be available for 12-hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday; scheduling may change per the ONA collective agreement.
