
Assistant Chief Flight Instructor at Aquila Aviation
Aquila Aviation in Abbotsford is hiring one permanent, full‑time Assistant Chief Flight Instructor (onsite). The role supports the Chief Flight Instructor in running the flight training operation, setting and updating standard procedures, supervising Class 4 instructors, and ensuring training quality and regulatory compliance. The position includes delivering ground and flight instruction to prospective instructors and reviewing progress checks, solo authorizations and flight‑test recommendations.
- Location: 1232 Tower Street, Abbotsford, BC (on site)
- Employment: Permanent, full‑time; 30 hours per week
- Wage: $60.00 per hour
- Language: English; start date: as soon as possible
- Required qualifications: secondary school plus a certified aviation program; Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) or Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane); Transport Canada Class 1 Flight Instructor rating (Aeroplane); Category 1 medical; ROC‑A.
- Experience: at least three years of flight instruction (including one year at a Canadian Flight Training Unit) and at least one year supervising Class 4 instructors at a Canadian FTU.
- Other requirements: must have trained and recommended at least 10 candidates for initial Transport Canada Flight Instructor flight tests in the past 24 months and be eligible under Canadian Aviation Regulations standards for appointment as an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor.
- Assets listed: ATPL (Aeroplane), Group 1 instrument rating, prior ACFI or comparable experience.
