
Registered Psychiatric or Registered Nurse — Casual, Surrey BC
Kekinow Native Housing is recruiting a casual Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to work on its Complex Care Housing team in Surrey. The role requires practicing in line with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards and the organization’s client‑centred approach.
The post sits on a multi‑disciplinary team that supports people with severe and persistent mental illness, problematic substance use, and/or developmental disabilities. The nurse acts as a primary clinician providing assessment, treatment planning, case management, community supports and, when needed, urgent response for clients who may have significant functional impairments.
- Carry out clinical assessments through meetings, observation, home or environment visits, and conversations with family, caregivers or other clinicians.
- Provide bio/psycho/social services including intake, orientation, crisis stabilization, service bridging, and mental health and substance use assessments.
- Work collaboratively with clients to set treatment goals and implement agreed‑upon plans; coordinate needed supports across services.
- Deliver evidence‑based individual and group interventions, crisis stabilization, psychoeducation and other therapeutic modalities to clients and families.
- Serve as a point of clinical responsibility within a designated team and use specialized treatment approaches as required.
